Following the July 2006 war, Lebanon entered into a phase of recovery. Lebanon Opportunities
organized a conference focused on the economic recovery of the country. It was a forum for
interaction and dialogue between the public sector and the private sector together with other
stakeholders such as international donors and labor. The conference was conducted over two days.
The conference theme was adopted by the government which hosted the second day of the conference at
the Grand Serail, participated with addresses by the Prime Minister and key ministers, and honored
the participants by a dinner at the Serail.
Profile of participants
The event was attended by round 750 high-level participants. Participant profile included company
owners, managers, and decision-makers from leading companies from various industries such as financial
services, manufacturing, real estate, information and telecommunication technologies, hospitality,
insurance, engineering, the media, and other sectors. Leaders of several business organizations were
also present. Many public officials attend, including government ministers with portfolios dealing with
economic issues. The conference was addressed by Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
Workshops
A dozen workshops were organized. More than 45 speakers addressed the workshops including the Prime Minister,
several ministers, ambassadors, key business and labor leaders, economists, and experts. Many visitors attend
more than one workshop. Each session was full or almost full. In an exit survey after the last conference,
most people questioned after the workshops said that they were either satisfied or very satisfied.
Press coverage
The event was well covered by leading television stations during their newscast. It was also well reported
during in the economic pages of leading newspapers.
Supporting organizations
A number of organizations supported the event including the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, The Federation
of Tourism Syndicates, ELCIM, The World Bank, UNDP, and RDCL.

The conference has been patronized and sponsored by leading companies whose participation made the event possible
and free of charge, and gain it brand recognition and association with a premium event. The event patron was MTC
Touch. Sponsors included Banque Libano-Francaise, Rymco, and Jubeili Bros.

More than 1,500 business managers, investors, and opinion makers participate every year
in the "Business Opportunities in Lebanon" event. The event has become the premier
business networking opportunity in Lebanon, full of useful workshops, business and
investment matching, exhibition, other side activities.
Visitor profile
Visitor profile included company owners, managers, and decision-makers in leading companies
from various industries such as financial services, manufacturing, real estate, information
and telecommunication technologies, hospitality, insurance, engineering, the media, and other
sectors. Leaders of several business organizations were also present.

The event 100
Lebanon Opportunities organized Event 100 on the 5 th of July, 2005 at the square of Saifi Village. The event was attended by a large number of readers, business partners, advertisers, suppliers, clients, business and government leaders. In parallel, an exhibition displayed business icons of different themes.
Each attendee received a copy of this Special 100 issue, in addition to “My first 100 editorials” a collection of the articles of Ramzi El Hafez, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. |
